- Regular maintenance helps extend its lifespan
- It only takes a few minutes
How to maintain your treadmill: step by step
What you need
For proper maintenance, you’ll need:
- Lubricating oil for treadmills
- A soft, dry cloth
- The manual for your treadmill
- Optional: an Allen key for adjustments
Applying the oil
You can lubricate your current Moov treadmill in 4 steps:
- Open the lubrication port: You’ll find it on the side of the treadmill.
- Apply a small amount of oil: A little is enough.
- Let the belt run: Set the treadmill to a low speed of around 1 km/h.
- Walk slowly for a few minutes: This helps distribute the oil across the running surface.
Tip: It’s better to use too little oil than too much.
What type of oil should you use?
Use a lubricant specifically designed for treadmills. We recommend Moov lubrication oil. It consists of 100% pure silicone oil and can be applied through the external filling port.
Why is maintenance important?
Less wear and fewer malfunctions
Dust and dirt can create additional friction. Regular maintenance helps keep the motor, belt and running surface working properly.
It helps extend the lifespan
Good maintenance helps keep your treadmill in good condition for longer.
Safe and quiet use
By checking your treadmill regularly, you reduce the chance of loose parts, squeaking noises and a less smooth walking or running experience.
