The remote control for my SmartStep V1 or V2 isn’t working. What should I do?

For the V1 and V2, you can try the following steps:

Method 1:Turn the power switch under the treadmill to ON. Immediately press and hold the power button (I▶) on the remote. Do you hear the treadmill beep? The pairing was successful and the treadmill will now recognise the remote automatically.

  • Mind the timing: hold the button immediately after you switch the power to ON;
  • Make sure the remote's battery is seated correctly;
  • Try again – sometimes the second attempt succeeds.

Still no remote? No need to worry – we have another method to try and restore the pairing.

Method 2:turn the treadmill on.

  1. Pull the red safety key out of the handrail. Error E07 will now appear on the display;
  2. Press and hold the large middle button on the remote until you hear beeps;
  3. Replace the safety key and test whether the remote now works;
  4. Still not working? Replace the remote's batteries to rule that out.

The remote control for my SmartStep V3 isn’t working. What should I do?

For the V3 you can try the following:

  1. Turn the on/off switch under the treadmill to ON;
  2. Then press and hold the Start|Stop button on the remote for 5 seconds;
  3. Do you hear the treadmill beep? The pairing worked and the treadmill will now recognise the remote automatically.
  4. Still not working? Try the following: watch the timing:
  5. Hold the button down immediately after you switch it to ON;
  6. Make sure the remote's battery is seated properly;
  7. Check the battery is still charged;
  8. Try again if needed – sometimes the second try works.
